What is the cost of your DVDs?
All of out DVDs, with the acception of the box sets, are $19.99. This does not include shipping and handling. The box sets are typically a little more expensive.
Why so cheap?
For the most part, our DVDs are imports. We are able to purchase them in bulk at a good price and can therefore pass the savings on to our customers.
What is an imported DVD?
Imported DVDs are manufactured outside the United States. They could come from Canada, Asia, South America or elsewhere.
If these imported DVDs come from outside the US, does that mean that the audio is in a foreign language or that the video has foreign subtitles?
No. For the most part, the audio plays in English - unless of course it is originally a foreign language film. We do carry a few other those, but there will be English subtitles. In all other cases, the DVDs are without subtitles and play in English.
Isn't selling imported DVDs illegal?
No. Why would it be? Is it illegal to purchase an automobile manufactured outside the US? Of course not. And the benefit of buying DVDs made outside the US is the fact that many of these titles were never put on DVD in the United States. Or, if they were (i.e. Last of the Dogmen, The Odyssey, and Drop Dead Fred), they've since been discontinued by the manufacturer and now cost a small fortune to purchase on sites like Amazon, Half.Com and Ebay.

We do not ship outside the US through this website. However, if you live outside the US, you can email us at sales@theopenmikecafe.com and we'll send you an invoice through Google Checkout. Shipping and handling charges to addresses outside the US will be slightly higher.
What is Google Checkout?

Sorry, we do not accept PayPal.
What happens if my DVD doesn’t work?
In the rare instance that you receive a defective DVD, there is no need to panic! We will replace any defective DVDs, free of charge upon return of the defective DVD. Just send us an email.
If the DVD doesn't work, why do I have to return it?
Because we need to return it to the manufacturer.
What is your return policy?
All sales are final and there are no returns. The reason for this policy, which we strictly adhere to, is for the fact that DVDs and other media are easily copied these days. We will only replace defective DVDs once the defective DVD has been returned to us.
Would you replace one title with another?
No. Replacements are made for the same title only.
What if the post office loses or damages a DVD?
We ship with delivery confirmation. If the post office loses your DVD, it will be replaced. Same thing if the post office damages it. In case of a damaged disc, it must be returned to us so that we can send it back to the manufacturer before we can replace it.
